about
I’m a self-directed editorial leader with extensive experience in digital media, from websites to social media to audio content. Over the years, I’ve gained a diverse, competitive skill set and developed a reputation for exemplary project management skills, heightened attention to detail and robust work ethic. I’m an expert at five things: organizing data, identifying shortfalls and opportunities, communicating on a human level, creating great content and getting that content out into the world.
In my current role as content manager at Melogold, I helped launch MelogoldPresents.com, an online destination sharing the innovative work of this video production startup specializing in native advertising. I also oversee the company’s production and release schedules, handle communications with our partners and assist in recruiting our all-star teams.
In my most recent full-time position as the inaugural curation administrator for Channels, Audible‘s foray into short-form audio (now a free benefit for Amazon Prime members), I led a team of content curators in crafting original audio playlists prior to the product’s launch and went on to develop editorial strategies and build new processes that would later be credited for improving both team efficiency and content quality. I also served as the point person for several of our key partners, including TED Conferences, The New York Times, Harvard Business Review and Reader’s Digest.
At Yahoo, I leveraged the power and extensive reach of the Yahoo News homepage, along with the strength of several vigorous partnerships, to grow year-over-year traffic to our verticals and the scope of our social media and marketing undertakings.
My digital media journey truly began at Biography.com, a former A+E Networks property, where my duties as an editorial producer more closely resembled those of an executive editor. I was in charge of developing content strategies and overseeing quality assurance for all Bio.com content while leading a 20-plus-member editorial staff to execute a vision focused on making our profiles — the most popular section of the site — a must-click, must-share and must-like for a growing audience. Analytics and social reach metrics (alongside “big swing” editorial experiments driven by both enterprise goals and gut instinct) informed Bio.com’s informative, engaging, often viral and consistently successful content. Within a year into my role I’d helped expand the site’s content offerings and reach, along with A+E’s vision for a digital future, while balancing studies toward a Master of Business Administration degree at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business. And by the end of my tenure at A+E, Bio.com had witnessed exponential traffic growth.
As the sole editor and head writer of the Franklin Square/Elmont Herald newspaper and its web component, I identified and composed readership-relevant news — aided in no small part by an invaluable and continually growing list of trusted local sources. On the legislation beat at The Daily Reporter, a Columbus, Ohio-based legal newspaper, I was a prolific writer tasked with breaking down legalese and new legislation introduced in the Ohio House and Senate, before moving out to New York to join the Long Island Herald‘s editorial leadership.
Along the way, my freelance work has included writing for The Wild Honey Pie’s blog and C-BUS Magazine, and editing multiple self-help books.
My lifelong career mantra? Work smarter. On various teams over the past decade, I’ve been the person who identifies shortfalls and inefficiencies, figures out ways to improve systems and workflows, and continually works to boost my team’s productivity and overall sense of unity. So if you’re looking for someone who can develop creative strategy, craft compelling content, dig in to data, determine what’s working (and what’s not) and stir things up for the better, look no further.
